NotD: Layla Hologram Polish 'Ocean Rush'

Here is my nail of the day for today. I only just got this polish in the post today (separate nail mail post coming up!) and it is already my favourite polish EVER!
I'm just going to let the polish do the talking...

Base coat: Dance Legend AquaGenetic base coat (one coat)
Polish: Layla Hologram 'Ocean Rush' (two coats)
Top coat: none
Wow! I can't stop looking at it <3

This was two coats of polish over a base of Dance Legend Aquagenetic, which is a special base coat. It acts as a treatment for the nail as well as protecting it from the potentially harmful effects of polish. It's also the perfect base for holo polishes. The Layla polishes apply very streaky, especially over other base coats but sometimes even on a naked nail if it's not completely buffed and shined. They can be a real pain to apply and some shades need three coats to make an even and opaque colour. However, with this magical base coat they apply like any other polish AND the linear holo effect is enhanced! This base coat is a must if you want to get the most out of your holo polish, and it smells nice too :)

This polish dries to a semi-matte finish. I did try Seche Vite top coat on one nail but it totally ruined the linear holo effect, so I left it naked. It did wear off at the ends of my nails quite fast so I will be searching blogs for a good top coat to use - just to protect it.
I am so obsessed with this polish I don't think I'll be wearing any others for a little while! When I can bear to remove it I'll be reviewing the other polishes I bought.

What do you think of this polish?

Check out my nail haul post for details of the Layla Hologram collection and prices. Any questions, just ask :)

Love, Sarah NailsfromNothing xx (eeeeeeeee I love it!)
