Tonight I received my latest Avon order.
This contained four polishes from the Speed Dry+ collection. They looked amazing in the brochure so I had to have them. There are six polishes in this collection:
Apologies for the crap picture!

I decided to buy four of them as I never wear yellow nail polish and the green was too yellow in tone. I'm too pale to get away with either of them! So these are the ones I picked:
L-R: Underworld, Lure, Trance, Enchanted Siren
|
Base coat: OPI Nail envy (one coat)
Polish: Avon Speed Dry+ (various, four coats)
Top coat: none
Application:
The bottles need a good shake before application as the sparkle flakes all sink to the bottom when being stored.
The brush was OK to apply with, the photo above was taken with no clean-up as none was really needed.
As for the formula, these polishes apply very streaky. I find this with a lot of speed dry polishes; they start to dry as you apply them, which means you end up pulling half of the polish off as you are trying to even out the first coat.
The two lighter shades took four coats to get to that level of opacity and you can still see the whites of my nails clearly through them! The other two shades were more like three-coaters but I put another coat on to be sure.
Despite four coats they were fully touch-dry after about five minutes.
Cost:
Each polish cost £3. The Avon brochure says the full price is £6. They are a decent size at 12ml and the bottles are nice.
Verdict:
The polishes look gorgeous in the bottle but I feel quite disappointed with them. They are too thin - I don't always have the time or patience to wait for 4-5 layers of polish to dry - and you can't see really the sparkly bits when they are on the nail which is a shame as that's what what sold them to me. If they were plain polishes I wouldn't have bought them.
They do have a bit of a shimmer running through them though which is nice.
Overall they are OK, but I kind of wish I'd spent that money on more Moyra or Barry M polishes as they cost the same per bottle but are much better quality.
What do you think of these polishes?
Love, Sarah NailsfromNothing xx
I've nominated your blog for the Liebster award...good luck! xoxo
